Police in the Minneapolis area arrested 34-year-old Joel Buss, who works at an ice rink, for driving under the influence. He is accused of driving a Zamboni (the ice resurfacing machine) on the rink while drunk.
Witnesses saw Buss weaving all over the ice and slamming into the boards during a scheduled resurfacing job and called police.
Buss took 25 minutes to resurface the ice, a job which takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Police were waiting for Buss in the garage area of the rink where the Zamboni is stored and gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed. Buss has three prior drunk driving convictions.
