Just heard them play it on KLAS FM, he said he 'Just came here to jog' and that's what he did

The callers are saying the statement was disingenuous and that Asafa was trying to take away the gloss of Blake's win
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.

St Kitts on the map long time in track and field. Remember that Ben Johnson's doctor was from there....Ben use to visit frequently.....I went there once and Ben was a star there...

I totally agree with you Willi. The lack of respect to Asafa by the Jamaican public is often fuelled by the media - both print and electronic. This man has ran more sub 10 times (80+)? THAN ANY OTHER 100m runner EVER.....and twice as many his next rival.....
Kim Collins is a competitor and has surprised many....
Ray was unlucky to be running aginst all juiced-up runners in his era...

That doesn't mean you need to excuse every silly thing he does. It gets pitiful, Willi!

Listen, I for one will always give Asafa credit for rescuing men's athletics in Jamaica, particularly in the sprints. And I think he will always have an honoured place in Jamaica's history. Which Jamaican ever thought a Jamaican could hold the WR in the 100m?! That is the WR of WRs! That will never change, so his legacy is intact. But along with that legacy is history that strongly suggests that it was all about the money for him.

He was pulling out of races all year because of Money or the chance to run in Daegu for gold?

                        Yuh exaggerating now.

                          All now it baffle mi.

Some claimed it was the rule then, but is the only time I can recall it being applied. Plus it is illogical, as if someone breaks first, others will follow instinctively...like hearing a noise in the stands.

                          Madness really.
