Would have been tough to beat that US team the way they ran. Sanya did a sub-50 on the opening leg for them.

Heard the commentator say that. Don't know if they posted the splits yet.

Maybe not, she was out slow but had a strong last 150 and might have handed over second

She did hand over second.....but the race had been lost by that time.

Naw, the best we could have hoped for is that the US dropped the baton.

You think it is easy to match a 49-mash leg?

We need to understand that what Sanya did was an exceptional leg and not many people would have expected that from her after her fourth place performance in the 400m race and dont forget that Rosie has been our most consistent performer this season and failed to get past the semis.

Whyte dash wheh wi gold.. our 3rd leg ran the fastest split in History.. the 1st leg was bad enough to negate that.. Whyte is definitely off form.. damn shame.. we had the quality to do it..

It appeared to me that on that first exchange Rosie slowed (lost concentration? ...or scared of error?) before handing over...and that separation by the USA at the change over was key for them - bad fo us...

The US run better n terms of that 1st 80M - 'separation time' - then we did. We lost - or at least we would have been closer on each leg during those crucial first 80M - I think, right there.

All our ladies ran very, very well!
                            50. change on that 1st leg by Rosie was very, very good. Just puts Sanya's great leg in perspective.

For those who have not run this race - That 1st leg is a killer! I cannot actually explain why that is so... - after all it is still 400M - but it has proven time and again to be the 'hardest' to match your flat time.
