LONDON, England — Jamaican athletes had to be content with a handful of minor medals on the second day of the two-day Crystal Palace Diamond League meet here yesterday.
A jaded-looking world and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce could only muster 11.10 in placing third in the women's 100m won by American Carmelita Jeter in an impressive 10.93 seconds.

Fast-rising Trinidadian Kelly-Ann Baptiste filled the runner-up spot in a creditable 10.97. The other two Jamaicans in the race, Schillonie Calvert (11.23) and the veteran Aleen Bailey (11.36), were fourth and seventh, respectively.
Warren Weir clocked a personal best 20.43secs for second place behind Walter Dix (20.16) in the men's half-lap race.
Meanwhile, Jamaican-born Sanya Richards-Ross (49.66) captured the 400 ahead of the Jamaican trio of Rosemarie Whyte (49.84), Novlene Williams-Mills (50.46) and Olympic silver medallist Shericka Williams (50.64), who finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
The 49.84secs was also a personal best for Whyte, a former national champion.
Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu of Britain was way off the pace in last.
