Carl Whyte, a Jamaican who teaches high school in Maryland, has advanced to the next show of "The Big Break-Indian Wells" on The Golf Channel.
In this week's episode, Whyte and the six remaining golfers were given the day off. The four golfers who were eliminated on previous episodes competed for a chance to re-join the competition. The other three were sent home.
The grand champion recieves cash, endorsements, and other prizes worth $65,000 and an entry in the 2012 PGA Tour event in New Orleans.
"The Big Break-Indian Wells" airs Monday at 8:30 pm ET on The Golf Channel, and is replayed at various times during the week.
