VCB as brilliant, the start was good not great but by the time they got their heads up she was right there and held them off, executed all her phases.

Damn I am sure Lance was looking on wherever he was and must have cringed.

I recall when the news broke (In Observer) that she was changing coaches everyone was up in arms asking who is Anthony Carpenter...I guess he will need some assistants next year when the influx starts

I believe that he said that was a coach but that he coach athletics before

I have a friend whose son has been with him for a while and even he was surprise that Ver came there but the coach has been doing his thing for a while, mainly with youths. I have gotten invite to go and watch them but I haven't been able to yet. They are on my side of Atlanta.

              Watched it...and watched it.
If the start she got was anything to go by...her mindset on starting the shorter races has improved tremendously. She was right there with Shelly-Ann at the start...and Shelly-Ann, as we all know is no slouch getting out of the blocks.

              Great run!
              Big up to Ms. VCB!

Aside: On another note Spencer is making strides in the 400M Hurdles. just needs to get stronger and a bit quicker. Nice run by her also.

It also shows us what we all knew - VCB must be our anchor on our 4 x 100M as her top end speed is above that of our next fastest Shelly-Ann.

...I also think Kerron Stewart has greater top end speed than Shelly-Ann.
Shelly-Ann should start that relay. With no so good changes we can break the world record if all our top guns are in top form. With smooth changes we could do so...by miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles!

he is not unknown as you trying to make him sound. He has been coaching for a while but mainly juniors. A friend of mine son has been with him for a little while and they have seen steady improvement with this kid ranking in the top 10 in the US in both the 400 and the 800 metres.

He is known in the world junior circle and maybe that is how Ver knew him and Dexter Lee as well.

You have time to even respond to that mad man's ravings...who was Lance Brauman before he cached VCB and Tyson Gay, did anyone outside of his house even know that he could coach anyone?

VCB and Tyson made Lance who he is today and it is surprising that since those two he has not had anyone else come even close to them yet, then again they have set the bar so high, it would not be easy to come close.

                            SAF has never anchored!

You design a relay for the best elements in place. Why yuh think Bolt not the anchor when he is the fastest?

What you gain by Bolt anchoring, you lose even more on his replacement on 3rd leg.

VC on the corner is peerless!

SAF should start, I agree, but Kerron should be backstrech or anchor, as she is not good on the curve.

VC can run anywhere, but may be most valuable on 3rd. They need to PRACTISE all these combinations.

He was extremely unknown, as not many on the various fora could say a thing about him. The most we got was that he had a small club coaching juniors.

At the pro level, people are hesitant to take risks with unproven talent. This does not mean that we wont uncover goldmines from time to time.

Given VC's explanation for going there (Bauman overcrowded/ wanting to work on technical deficiencies like her start), I had not many problems with the move, but could understand why others did. I was TOTALLY convinced just before WIC when I saw her MUCH improved start. This coach is technical and should do wonders for Dexter too. Kudos to him.
