  • Tiger hurt in car accident

Tiger Woods has been 'seriously injured' in a car crash not far from his home in Florida, according to reports.
The world number one was at the wheel of his sports utility vehicle when the incident happened, and was taken to Health Central Hospital where his condition was not immediately known.
Early reports suggest the 33-year-old struck a fire hydrant and then a tree after pulling out of his driveway in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol added that the incident was still under investigation and charges were pending.

Tiger Woods has been released from hospital after emerging from a minor car crash with nothing more than 'facial lacerations'.
Early reports claimed the 33-year-old was seriously injured after hitting a fire hydrant and then a tree after pulling out of his driveway in the early hours of Friday morning.
However, his agent Mark Steinberg says Woods is 'fine'.
The world number one was at the wheel of his sports utility vehicle when the incident happened not far from his Florida home, and was subsequently taken to Health Central Hospital.
The Orange County Fire Rescue said it received a call about the accident at 2.28am ET (7.28am GMT), but the Florida Highway Patrol did not report it until almost 12 hours later.
The FHP added that the incident was still under investigation and charges were pending.
      Released

Local Mayor Gary Bruhn, whose police department responded to the incident, told CNN: "An accident occurred about 2:30 this morning and Windermere police were first upon the scene because basically we're right there and can arrive within a minute and a half.
"I understand that there were some facial lacerations and he was taken to Health Central Hospital where he was treated and then I'm told he was released."
Bruhn said he did not know the specifics of the incident but added that the fact that charges were pending was a routine part of any accident investigation.
"Something like this would be just an ongoing investigation," he added. "I think it's nothing more than an accident but from that standpoint they've got to let everything run its full course and do the investigation to see what was involved.
"I'm told that could take a number of days to come to its conclusion."
The 14-time major winner is scheduled to host his own tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, next week in California

GOLF breathed a huge sigh of relief last night as Tiger Woods escaped serious injury following a car crash outside his Florida home.

The last thing the game needed now in the credit crunch - with tournament sponsors pulling out in droves, especially in the US - was to lose its billion dollar man.
As well as being the most recognisable sportsman on the planet, world No 1 Woods is also the man who keeps the cash rolling into the sport - most of it into his own bank account.
His career earnings so far have been estimated by Forbes, publishers of the annual rich list, at a mind-boggling £560million.
And they confidently forecast he would burst through the billion dollar barrier next year, a prediction that almost went horribly awry as Woods drove his car first into a fire hydrant and then into a tree.
Early reports suggested the American star, 33, had been badly injured.
But it was later announced he had been released from hospital suffering only cuts to the most famous face in sport.
European Tour chief George O'Grady admitted everyone involved in the golfing world would be relieved to hear Woods' injuries were not serious.

FAMILY MAN ... Tiger Woods with wife Elin and daughter Sam

He said: "For the whole world of golf we wish him well and hope there's no real damage and he recovers very soon.
"Tiger's a role model for the world of golf, not just the European Tour.
"I think everybody will be delighted the injuries are not serious. What a relief, for everyone in the world of golf."
The 14-time Major winner is due to host his own £4.8m tournament next week, the Chevron World Challenge in California.
The field for that event features most of the top 20 players in the game - including himself.
Newly-crowned European No 1 Lee Westwood, the world No 4, will be among those waiting to see if that tournament goes ahead and if Woods is able to tee off himself.
Golf officials will be praying Woods does not have to take another extended break, barely nine months after returning to the game following an eight month lay-off to undergo knee surgery.
While he was recuperating, TV audiences fell through the floor and sponsors already hit by the recession were even more reluctant to open the purse strings.
But the chances are Woods will be back in action very quickly.
After all, he refused to let something as 'trivial' as a ruptured knee ligament and a couple of stress fractures in the same left leg prevent him winning the 2008 US Open.
Woods surprisingly failed to add to that triumph this year, leaving him stuck four short of equalling Jack Nicklaus' career haul of Majors.
But he was tipped to make big inroads on the Golden Bear's mark in 2010 and the venue for golf's showpiece events will give him an added incentive to resume playing as soon as possible.
As well as targeting a fifth Masters title in April, Woods will be licking his lips at the prospect of returning to Pebble Beach for the US Open two months later. That was the setting for arguably the greatest performance of his career, when he won the 2000 US Open by a staggering 15 shots.

A fourth Open Championship title also beckons at St Andrews. Two of his previous victories in the game's oldest and most prestigious Major came at the home of golf as he romped to easy victories in 2000 and 2005.
Some pundits have even forecast a calendar Grand Slam, with Whistling Straits, the venue for the USPGA Championship in August, favouring the big hitters.
Vijay Singh was crowned champion when the event was last played over the Wisconsin course five years ago.
All that mouth-watering speculation could have become mere pie in the sky if Woods had not been so fortunate in his mysterious mishap.
Once the dust settles, questions will be asked over why Woods was behind the wheel at 2.30 in the morning. But he is used to being in the public eye.
His recent trip to Australia cost the organisers £1.8m in appearance money. And yet such was the interest created that it was generally considered money well spent in Melbourne.
Woods takes a lot of the credit for golf's increased popularity.
Prize money has gone through the roof in the past decade and television viewing figures rocket whenever and wherever he is playing.
His Foundation charity has already raised many millions and his background - his late father, Earl, was an African American war veteran and his mother, Kultida, is Thai - has helped to take golf to a new audience.
He met his Swedish wife, Elin, eight years ago - she was formerly nanny to European Ryder Cup player Jesper Parnevik's children.
They were engaged in 2003 and married the following year.
Daughter, Sam, was born in June 2007 and son, Charlie, arrived this February.
