  • JADCO4 athletes banned!

    By Inside Track

Kingston, JAM, Sept. 14, 2009: The four Jamaican athletes who had pleaded guilty to taking illegal substances were today banned for three months and also received a reprimand. They are Yohan Blake, Marvin Anderson, Allodin Fothergill and Lanceford Spence and were selected to represent the country at the Berlin World Championships but did not compete as the case was still pending.

Sources close to the athletes said that they entered the guilty plea to avoid long, drawn out and expensive court proceedings. The other athlete involved, Sherri-Ann Brooks, was freed by the tribunal and awaits the decision of the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) and the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA)

The big question is what will the international bodies do?

If they can then I hope they toss out the conviction. Something not right here, I smell a rat.

What was the point of it all though...IF the substance was not illegal..not listed..why are they banned?

you mean it is a set up for "disciplining" the mvp athletes?

The guilty plea looks like a plea deal. Anyone knows who did the suspensions JAAA or JADCO?
