JAAA Press Conference to update on Berlin disciplinary reports

KINGSTON – The disciplinary reports against the MVP athletes who missed the pre-competition camp as well as the Veronica Campbell-Brown sprint relay absence will be addressed at a press conference announced by the country’s governing body for tomorrow (Sept 4).
This after the team management has submitted their reports and the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) executive have considered same.
Standard practice suggests that the matter could be sent to the Disciplinary Committee who could either punish or dismiss the accused parties.
The six MVP athletes – Asafa Powell, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Melaine Walker, Shericka Williams, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Kaliese Spencer – who missed the mandatory training camp, could face sanctions, JAAA boss Howard Aris disclosed at a press conference in Berlin.

Campbell-Brown, who walked out on her sprint relay team, could also be sanctioned.

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.
