    Someone confirm for me of how you qualify for the finals again? First two in in each heat and the next two fastes qualifiers? If so USA get a bligh..

    Only five participants in their heats... but why all the Caribbean islands lumped in the same heat? coincidence? See startlist here:

    Yes thats the rule.

    Assuming they seed the teams using the best time for the current year, that may explain how BAH and JAM end up in the same heat. Looks like GER is the seeded team in the second heat.

      It may just be a blessing for the 3rd and 4th place tean in heat 1. What I noticed at Penn Relays is that the Jamaican teams run faster times when they are lumped togther in the same heat. At Penn you can win you race and dont quality for the finals so it helps to have some competition to force you to run faster.
      The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.
