Too many unaccomplished-never-do-nuttens in positions of power where they jealously try to take down achievers like crabs in a barrel. Abuse of power is our major crimes. Ego is a close second.

Whatever the cause or reason for certain actions taken by certain individuals, in the end only Jamaica ends up losing... we end up looking like rank amateurs. The issues should have been fleshed out and dealt with last September and a clear committment made by all parties on a way forward with respect to protocol before any big meet (do you know if anything was done?). There is a line between the individual's right to plan as best for him/herself (assumimg this is what Francis is doing for his athletes) and a committment to the team and country.

At some point before any big meet, the track clubs should take a back seat and Jamaica should come first! But as you point out ego and power tripping are a terrible combination!

At some point the track clubs AND especially the JAAA (or elements of) should take a back seat to country.

JAAA should be the guardian of national interest, which should dovetail with athlete interest. What is good for the athlete and their performance should be good for Jamdown, no?

How the hell it get to this stage??? Shouldnt the JAAA have ensured that all interestes were satisfied and fairly dealt with? That does not seem to be the case.

Look at Blackwood and how he raced them up and retired. They treated him shabbily at Trials. I dont blame him.
