STOCKHOLM — World champion Allyson Felix blasted to a 200 metres world-leading 21.88 seconds to shout-out her warning to Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell-Brown at the DN Galan Super Grand Prix meeting in Stockholm on Friday.
Felix, who won the title at the last World Championships in Osaka in 2007, rushed off the corner and just kept pulling away from the field, which stood no chance from the get go.
The time also broke the stadium record of 22.00, previously held by Jamaican Sherone Simpson.
Bahamian experienced sprinter Debbie Ferguson, who led the world prior to Felix’s performance, bettered her seasonal best to 22.23 to finished second, with Jamaica’s Olympic bronze medal winner Kerron Stewart taking third in a distant 22.72.

World-leader and world record holder Dayron Robles added another win to his chart this season when he captured the men’s 110m hurdles at the meeting.
The Cuban Olympic champion sped home to victory in 13.11, but despite being happy to come away with the win he was a bit disappointed with the time.
Americans Joel Brown (13.38) and Jason Richardson (13.430 finished second and third, respectively.
In the meantime,
American champion and rising star Jennifer Barringer won the women’s 5,000m in a personal best of 15:05.25.
"I could have gone faster, but I am very happy with the win today," she said. "I am very please with the way I finished."
