It's time for Bell to prove his talent
Javere Bell of Jamaica couldn’t be happier after winning his 400m semi-final heat to advance to Friday’s final at the 6th IAAF World Youth Championships.
Well, yes he could he said, he was not happy with how he ran the backstretch plus he felt some pain from his hamstring which is healing after an injury earlier in the season.
The 16-year-old Bell has a lot to give thanks for however and described the qualification as “a great achievement and I am thankful for that” after making the final in his first global championships.
Bell who is seen by some in his native Jamaica as one to look out for in the future in the one lap event, led the Boys Class 2 (Under 17) finals at Boys Championships for 350m before inexplicably missing out on a medal.
He atoned by winning the event at the Junior National Trials and then advanced to the finals here.
Bell who ran 48.03 seconds in the semi-finals says he is hoping to surpass his personal best of 47.91 seconds in the finals and thinks he can take home a medal.
