GB athlete injured in naked jump

Moore won the world youth triple jump crown in 2001

British long jumper Jonathan Moore has flown home after injuring himself in a mysterious incident during warm-weather training in South Africa.
The 24-year-old former world youth champion jumped naked, from a height of about seven metres, off the roof of a house in Potchefstroom.
However, his fall was broken when he hit the canopy of a pick-up truck belonging to the owner of the house.
UK Athletics said it would do everything possible to help Moore.
"Our primary concern is for the welfare of Jonathan and his family at this sensitive time," said a UK Athletics spokesman.
"UKA will do all they can to provide - or where necessary identify - the appropriate support to help nurse the athlete back to health."
Moore was dressed in his tracksuit at about 1430 local time on Saturday, according to Lappies Labuschagne, the owner of the house.
"He didn't react at all when I spoke to him," said Labuschagne.

If the canopy roof hadn't broken his fall he could have hurt himself really badly

"I tried English, Afrikaans and Tswana. He just wandered off." Moore was naked when he returned shortly afterwards, with the athlete climbing onto the roof of the house via a wall before jumping.
"The canopy's roof has had it," added Labuschagne.
"If that hadn't broken his fall he could have hurt himself really badly."
Moore won the world youth triple jump crown in 2001, but failed a drugs test at a meeting in Merksem, Belgium in September 2004.
He has now returned home with his father and coach Aston and the team doctor.
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.
