    <SPAN class=news_body>Richards made his test match debut in 1974 against India in Bangalore.

    He made an unbeaten 192 in the second test of the same series in New Delhi.

    In his stellar test career, he scored 8,540 runs including 24 centuries in 121 test matches at an average of 50.23.

    Richards's finest year was 1976 when he scored 1,710 runs at an average of 90 with seven centuries in 11 tests, both records to this day.

    The Texan billionaire Allen Stanford, who initiated the regional Stanford Twenty/20 Tournament earlier this year, was awarded knighthood.</SPAN></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
