2009 can be another golden year
THE EUPHORIA over Jamaica's success at the recent Beijing Olympics continues with the arrival home each week of one or two of the country's stars from the Games.
It started with the return of triple gold medallist and world 100 and 200 metres record holder Usain Bolt and continued with the subsequent arrivals of 100m gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser, 400m hurdles winner Melaine Walker and sprint relay gold medallist and former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell.
The athletes are now getting some deserved rest after a long and hectic season which, for some like Powell, started as early as February in Australia.
