Four days of celebration for T&T Olympic stars

Sports Minister Gary Hunt yesterday said Cabinet had agreed on a four-day programme to celebrate this country's Olympic heroes.
The team, which arrives at 10.10 a.m. on Monday, will be greeted at the airport by the Prime Minister and other members of the Cabinet. There will then be a short engagement at the VIP lounge, before they move to the atrium to greet "adoring fans", Hunt said. There will then be short statements by the Prime Minister and the athletes before they head to Port of Spain.
The delegation, Hunt said, will proceed along the Eastern Main Road, where schoolchildren are expected to line the route to "serenade our heroes". But the main celebration will take place at 4 p.m. at lower St Vincent Street, Port of Spain, where there will be a cultural programme. The Prime Minister will announce then what reward Government will give the athletes.
On Tuesday, the team will hold a press conference, visit President George Maxwell Richards and receive their national awards. They will then be the main hosts at an Olympic dinner.
On Wednesday, the team will be hosted by the San Fernando Mayor and will participate in an open forum discussion at the Naparima Bowl with students and young athletes. On Thursday they will go to Tobago.
What if they had Jamaica's six golds, 3 silvers & 2 bronze medals.... maybe 6 months or a year of celebrations?
