If the trend continues, we will soon be renaming the Beijing Olympics the Jamaican Olympics.
We were all still on a high from the astounding performance by the mesmerisingly charismatic Mr Usain Bolt in the Men's 100 metres on Saturday, then up step our women to make their own statement.
And what a statement! The Gold, Silver, Silver for Misses Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart completed the first 100m sprint double (men and women) for any nation since the Americans did it in 1988. It was the first sweep of medals for any 100m since 1912 and the first for women in the history of Olympic Games and World Championships.
