    Thanks.

Unlike the 100 v. Asafa where he appeared to run hard to the tape, he looked like he eased up the last 30...wow!

You can see why Michael Johnson says he is ready to kiss the 200m WR goodbye.

Making predictions is tricky business, and I try to stay away from that. Nevertheless, I'm prepared to make TWO -- only two -- gold medal predictions for the Beijing Olympics. These are Usain Bolt in the 200-meter race and the USA men in the 4x400-meter relay.

No other gold medal prediction from me!

In the case of Bolt, he is the only one who can prevent himself from getting that gold medal. Imagine, 1976 (Donald Quarry) to 2008. It's been a long 32-year wait!!

(Speaking of the dangers of making predictions, I'll never forget the 2004 Athens Olympics where NOBODY was talking about Justin Gatlin during the weeks and days and hours and minutes leading up to the 100-meter finals! It was as if Gatlin didn't exist! All eyes were focused on the pre-ordained winner, Maurice Green or Asafa Powell, and to a leser extent on Francis Obikwelu and Sean Crawford. Well, see what I mean about the dangers of predictions?)

They are even more difficult to make in an Olympic year.

If I had to choose between the 100m gold and the 200m gold I would choose the 100m though, because we have never won it at the Olympics though we have come oh-so-close many times from Herb Mac in 1952..
