What about Chris Brown the Bahamian in the 400m? The bronze is his to lose and only our bwoy Chambers can deny him.

I'll celebrate after the finals. I'm still disappointed from the last Olympic 100m.

              Good Point, Peter R

I’m not into the predictions game, as anything can happen in the finals! And we have countless examples of this, from Derrick Atkins unexpectedly winning the silver in the 100-meter last year in Osaka to the even more shocking Justin Gatlin winning of the 100-meter back in 2004 in Athens! Prior to the finals, nobody at all was seriously discussing Gatlin among the medalists!

The best thing is to read Track & Field News’ predictions and then quickly put those predictions out of our mind! For example, I’m not prepared to jump up and give Tyson Gay a mere bronze medal in the 100-meter! And I’m not dissing Asafa by saying this.

Also, Canada’s 400-meter man Tyler Christopher has always been, in my opinion, treated by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in a way similar to NBC’s treatment of Allyson Felix. Christopher Brown of the Bahamas, surely, has to be a more likely contender for the bronze than Tyler Christopher!

Don’t start breaking those champagne bottles as yet in expectation of an inevitable victory by Jeremy Wariner in the 400. LaShawn Merritt has already defeated him twice this year (if my memory is correct here). Wariner in 2008 so far just doesn’t seem to me to be the same as last year and the year before.

In the relays, I’ve yet to be convinced that Jamaica’s 4x400-meter men will win any sort of medals. And they won’t have Bolt to assist them!
