  • World Jnrs - Jamaica Underperforming!

Well, well, well.... Looking at this morning’s girls’ 4x400-meter relay results at the IAAF World junior Championships, we can see that Jamaica’s disappointing performance continues.

The girl’s 4x400-meter relay team is out of the finals, despite running a season’s best. The 3:38 by Kayon Robinson, LaToya McDermott, Amoy Blake and Natoya Goule was good enough for only a seventh place finish in Heat 2.

To tell you the truth, results such as these are a bit difficult to swallow! In the case of the girls’ 4x400-meter relay, the last time that Jamaica failed to win the gold medal at the regional Carifta Games level was way back in 1984. Since 1985 until now, Jamaica has dominated this mile relay event (under-20 girls) at the Carifta Games, winning sometimes by as much as 100 meters!

Even if we do not win on the world level, we should not be exiting in the heats after finishing seventh place!! What on earth is happening?
Working...
