JA REACH CUP FINAL Nash, Findlay star in 7-wicket triumph

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — Jamaica, inspired by a cheap four-wicket haul from Brendan Nash and an unbroken fourthwicket partnership of 88 between Shawn Findlay and Danza Hyatt, advanced to the KFC Cup final with a comfortable seven-wicket semi-final victory over Guyana at the 3Ws Oval yesterday.
In a match reduced to 43 overs a side after a late start caused by a wet outfield, Jamaica, with the Australia-born Nash at the forefront, restricted Guyana to 159-9 and lost only three wickets before winning from 40.2 overs in the first regional day/night match in the Caribbean.
Showing good control, Nash, bowling left-arm medium-pace, took 4-20 from nine overs, including three wickets in his third over and later effected a run out with a direct throw.
The left-handed Findlay led Jamaica’s chase with a solid unbeaten 64 off 116 balls with eight fours, while Hyatt, who joined him at 72-3 in the 16th over, weighed in with an undefeated 41 from 72 balls.
The stand between the two helped Jamaica complete their fourth successive victory in the tournament.
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.

Okay. Are we doomed to forever read "Australian-born Nash" for the rest of our lives?
