On the Road to Beijing - 2008

RE: Benefit Concert – April 20 @ Brooklyn College Walt Whitman Hall

Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB) was founded in 1999 in an effort to support athletes from Jamaica and the Caribbean who participates in the annual Penn Relay Carnival. TJB offers support in areas such as providing daily meals to the athletes and officials for the duration of the relays, seeking out accommodations, and providing daily shuttle service to and from the relay venue as well as roundtrip transportation to the airport. This year TJB has made a commitment to extend our support not only to the Penn Relay athletes of Jamaica and the Caribbean, but also to our 2008 Jamaican Olympians. We have themed this effort “Team Jamaica Bickle, on the road to Beijing”.
To accomplish our task, a series of events are planned. Highlighting these events is a Benefit Concert sponsored in part by VP Records on Sunday April 20th at the Walt Whitman Auditorium located at Brooklyn College. This concert will have Reggae artistes such as Ritchie Stephens, Etana, Dwayne Stephenson and Jamelody. Shortly, another major act will be named. VP Records and the artistes who will be performing are doing so as their contribution to our athletes and it is now up to us as a community to come out and support this historic event. Our Ambassador, His Excellency the Honorable Anthony Johnson will be our patron and our Consul General Mrs. Geneive Brown Metzger will join him. BET will be taping the show that will be broadcast on their platforms, notable BET and BET J, another coup for TJB.
Please be my guest at this event by purchasing at least two tickets. In fact why not bring the family. A special VIP Reception is planned which commences at 6pm – 7pm. The cost for VIP is $150 per ticket. Other ticket prices are $85, $75, $60 and $40.
