The Reggae Boyz Supporterz Club Library

The Reggae Boyz Supporterz Club (RBSC) operates a not-for-profit library for the benefits of its members and supporters of Jamaica’s football program. This is a volunteer service whose success depends on the cooperation of all its users.

The following policies govern the circulation of recorded material to registered members of the RBSC and its eligible associates. Eligible borrowers from the RBSC Library (referred to as the Library) accept responsibility for using materials with reasonable care, returning them to the lending agency according to established loan policies, and not losing or damaging them through negligence. Violation of this policy can result in suspension of some or all Library services. Circulation of materials for the Library shall be selected videocassettes and DVDs. These policies are subject to change at any time. However, materials already in circulation will be governed by the policies existing at the time of the transaction.

POLICY

Members of the RBSC will have priority borrowing privileges over non-members.

Recorded material will be loaned by the Library to eligible individuals without charge. Records will be kept of all such loans.

Registration

Prior to the exchange of any material, the intended borrower would have submitted the following information to the Library:

1.   Full name

2.   Street address

1.   Telephone number

2.   Email address

Submission of this information, followed by an acknowledgement from the Library, constitutes registration and entitles the individual to Library privileges. For continued and efficient service, the borrower should notify the Library of changes to his/her personal information.

The material will be loaned to registered readers as long as they are eligible and they remain in good standing with the Library.

Damaged or Lost Material

Patrons are responsible for damaged or lost Library materials. In the event that borrowed material ceases to function properly or needs repair, it should be returned to the Library, and a replacement will be provided. Under no circumstances should a borrower attempt to repair the item.

Loan Period

A borrower in good standing may have a maximum of three items loaned to him or her at any one time. In special circumstances, a borrower may request an increase in the maximum number. The loan period for the material is two weeks. Any item may be renewed for two (2) consecutive loan periods, unless another patron of the Library has placed a hold (reserve) on that item. It is the responsibility of the borrower to request such renewal at least one week before the intended date of renewal.

No fines for overdue materials will be levied; however, borrowers are urged to observe the loan period so material can be available for other users of this service.

Exchange of Material

The Library reserves the right to use whatever service it deems most efficient and convenient in the distribution of tapes, DVDs or any other recorded material. The patron agrees to stand all costs for the handling and delivery of all materials. Library handling and delivery charges for RBSC members are presently set at a flat rate of US$9.00 for each item delivered within the 48 contiguous states of the USA. Non-RBSC members will be charged a flat fee of US$12 per item. Patrons will email the Librarian for formal request of loan intent and send a check or money order for the requisite amount PRIOR to any material being sent out.

Handling and delivery charges to International destinations will depend on requestee's location, as well as RBSC membership status. As such, the handling and delivery rate will be calculated upon such request.

SUSPENSION PROCEDURES

In the event that any of these policies are violated repeatedly, the borrower's service may be suspended for a period of time after being given a written warning and an opportunity to reply. If after reinstatement of service, abuse continues, service may be suspended again.

In the event of suspension, the following steps will be taken:

1.   The Library will first discuss the problem noted with the patron by telephone or in-person if possible. A warning letter will be sent that summarizes the discussion and/or the problem and provides an opportunity for the patron to reply.

2.   If service abuse recurs, a second written communication will be sent to the patron citing the earlier warning letter, listing examples of subsequent abuse, giving the patron an opportunity to reply by a certain date, and then suspending the service for a stated period (up to six months). A specific date for resumption of service will be included in this letter.

When the service is resumed, a letter will be sent to the

1.   borrower notifying them of the resumption of the service and reminding the patron that further recurrences may result in cancellation of Library privileges.

In the case of a dispute, the RBSC Librarian will have the final say.
