HARBOUR VIEW were trounced 2-1 by DC United twice in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup but several players caught the attention of the US team's coach, Peter Nowak.

"I think Luton Shelton is a pretty good young player and he has a bright future," Nowak said after beating the Caribbean champions 4-2 on aggregate at the Harbour View Mini Stadium on Wednesday evening.

"Jermaine Hue and Robert Scarlett are also two very good players and it was hard playing against them," Nowak added.

TORRID PACE

Shelton's torrid pace and relentless attacking produced Harbour View's goal in the first game and he was unlucky to have not scored in the second.

In introducing Shelton at the beginning of the game, Harbour View manager Clyde Jureidini called him the "Jamaican teenage sensation", a direct response to American teen talent Freddy Adu, who represents DC United.

"I think a lot of Major League Soccer (MLS) teams will be looking at Shelton following this game," Nowak predicted.

"But for us we have no more roster spots."

Adu did not play on Wednesday night and local fans missed a chance to see the 16-year-old in action who has been widely celebrated since he joined the MLS last year.

Young prospects Akeem Priestly and Marcelino Blackburn made late appearances for Harbour View and immediately sparked their team, which moved languidly after conceding the second goal. However, their fate was irrevocable after allowing two goals in three minutes.
