PNE eye up Rico's pals

Reggae Boyz duo Omar Daley and Robert Scarlett are heading for Deepdale in the summer as Craig Brown seeks to add some more Jamaican sunshine to his Preston squad.

The North End boss revealed today he plans to have a close look at two of Ricardo Fuller's international team-mates for next season – red tape permitting.
Brown said: 'We are interested in both of them, and we will try to get them over in the summer.
'But we have got to make sure we can get work permits. They will need to have played the necessary number of games for Jamaica.'
That could prove a sticking point with midfielder Daley already appearing to have hit problems when he had trials last summer with both Everton and Leeds.
Immigration rules require non-EU passport holders to have played regularly for their country over the past two years.
But both Daley and full-back Scarlett are relative newcomers to the Reggae Boyz squad and may struggle to qualify at present.
Preston have already seen 24-year-old Scarlett at first hand – he made a hush-hush visit to Deepdale recently to train with Brown's squad.
But Daley also comes highly recommended, not least from striker Fuller who has played with both of his countrymen on the international stage.
North End's prize asset, who is currently recovering from knee surgery, has spoken at length to manager Brown about the two men and his assessment has helped win them trials.
Fuller admitted: 'Robert Scarlett is my best mate in the national team. He is quite a good player and a great left-footer as well.
'Omar Daley is quite good too. He has been on trial at Everton where he played quite well, but I guess that his work permit failed so they couldn't sign him.'
Daley is believed to be Brown's prime target, but he could face competition from clubs in the top flight for the youngster's signature if the immigration obstacle can be overcome.
Reports from the Caribbean, where he is in the Jamaica squad to take on St Lucia tonight in a Concacaf Gold Cup qualifier, describe him as an aggressive and combative central midfielder who can also operate out wide.
His profile on the definitive Reggae Boyz website says: 'He is prone to yellow cards, but that aggression is the stand-out aspect of his game along with good dribbling skills and a strong midfield work ethic.
'He is a capable goalscorer and has a decent long-range shot with either foot. He is definitely destined for bigger things.'
Daley, who plays for Hazard FC, only broke into the full Jamaican squad in the last 12 months after playing for the island's Under 20s.
Scarlett, whose regular position for club and country has been left-back, is also described as an aggressive player who would not be found wanting in the Nationwide League.
'He has the ability to dismantle opposing defences with his mazy attacking runs,' said the official reggaeboyz.com website.
'Robert is an exceptional talent and should serve the Reggae Boyz well in years to come.'
Scarlett, who has more than a dozen international caps dating back to October 2001, spent six months with Russian club Spartak Moscow last year and is currently playing for hometown club Harbour View in Kingston.
The defender is ruled out of tonight's international at home to St Lucia with a slight injury. But both he and Daley started the recent 2-1 defeat by the USA.
Work permits for both players will hinge purely on their international playing record. Jamaica meets government criteria because the Reggae Boyz are in the top 75 nations in the FIFA World Rankings list at 51st, ahead of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Preston boss Brown has denied he will be embarking on a summer spending spree after giving his existing players a public vote of confidence for next season.
But he will clearly need to freshen the squad with several outgoings expected between now and next August.
