There are many problems at this club. Let me try to explain the situation briefly. Money is the main problem.Like all clubs outside the OF, we live within a budget. SPL tv was set to be launched next season, all clubs having agreed the deal. That was until at the 11th hour the Old Firm decided they might pull out, and plunged the livelihoods of 10 other clubs into chaos. Clubs like Hearts are dependant on tv money so until this is settled managers dont know what their budgets will be. There is a meeting today to try andsort this out.
There are 6 first team regulars out of contract at the end of the season, 4 of whom are midfielders. Due to squad cutbacks these guys are still playing most weeks, unsure of where they'll be next season. No doubt this is unsettling for the players, but at present it cannot be avoided. 3/4 players are out due to longterm injury and Tomaschek returned only yesterday after 8 months out with cruciate damage. The squad we have left is very young, several of the players are only teenagers. So apart from our defence, which is fairly solid (although Pressley has been ruled out for the rest of the season), the rest of the team has not been playing to their best of abilities. It is true to say that Fuller does not get enough support, neither does Gary Wales, but he is still scoring goals (now and again!) and does not have a fraction of the skill that Boo has. Do the fans want to see entertainment or results? Well there are arguments for each case. Preferably I'd like both!! Equally there are 2 sides of argument over Fullers dip in form. No support, playing in a poor team etc have their merits. The flip side of that is that if Fuller is so good, why isnt he standing out like sore thumb from the others? After all he is rated as a million pound player!! Hearts still have an outside chance of Europe, but the most worrying thing is our apparent lack of motivation to get there and the fans are annoyed about this. Europe is a bonus to our budget, and again you would think that if we qualify there is more likelihood these guys will be resigned. That doesnt seem to have sunk in to them. A fantastic victory over Hibs was followed by an appalling defeat by St.Johnstone. Our inconsistency is incredible. You would think these out of contract players in particular would be trying their hardest to earn a new contract. Not so. But, hey, that is life as a Hearts supporter!! As far as Ricardo is concerned, its his price tag not his skill that is questioned. To achieve million pound status he must produce the goods more frequently than he currently does. A player with such huge potential, must get past the potential part and start fulfilling his fate. He is "POTENTIALLY" a multi million pound player, but it is up to him to make that happen. To say that he supplies his team mates with passes while they dont reciprocate is nonsense. I dont know where that notion has come from. Hopefully once Ricardo scores he will start banging them in again and return to his old form, but time is running out, not just for Fuller but for his teammates also. With at least 3 new players the management hope to bring in, there are only 4 games left for them to fight for their places.

Lulu, maybe you have said it in the above statement. Even when the man is terribly off form, his teammates are not above him in terms of play. This does not say very much for Hearts.
